London, England, 1893. Edmund Monroe is a private investigator who wants nothing more than an exciting case to solve. Fortuitously for him, a woman shows up on his doorstep who presents him with just such a case. The mystery? She has absolutely no memory of who she is or where she came from. 

Amelia Smith, as she calls herself in lieu of her true identity, insists on teaming up with the detective to investigate her unique case. As they discover clues about her identity, they soon learn that her case is bigger than either of them had anticipated—and she is currently in imminent danger.
